Becoming a Brother

Becoming a Brother

Thank you very much for your interest in our Brotherhood. Membership in Alpha Kappa Psi is a lifelong investment, commitment, and bond, and the path to becoming a Brother is a challenging but rewarding one. Here, we provide you with some general information regarding that process to help you decide whether it is one you wish to embark on. For more comprehensive information, please be sure to check our microsite dedicated to this semester's Rush activities at rushakpsi.org.

Timeline
There are two major stages that all prospective Brothers undergo. The first is Rush, which is held in the first few weeks of every semester. Following that is the Pledge Process, which continues throughout the rest of the semester. Those who successfully complete both the Rush and Pledge Processes will cross into the Brotherhood near the end of the semester during which they pledged.

The Pledge Process for the Omega Pledge Class of Fall 2009 was completed in December 2009. Rush for the Alpha Beta Pledge Class for Spring 2010 is underway. To view an overview of the Rush program, please visit our Rush Website.

Letter From the Rush Chairs
Welcome to Life in the Fast Lane, Alpha Kappa Psi’s Spring 2010 Rush program. For one week beginning on Monday, January 18, 2010, the Epsilon Rho chapter proudly invites you to meet our seventy-one individual Brothers who comprise one of Penn’s premier professional organizations, and to become acquainted with the ideals of our Brotherhood that make Alpha Kappa Psi one-of-a-kind.

We designed Rush to stay true to its meaning: energy, speed, awe. For five days, you will have the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a Brother of Alpha Kappa Psi. From our reception with our esteemed alumni to our signature Rush mixer with the Brothers, you will experience the pillars that define and unite our Brotherhood: People, Professionalism, Philanthropy.

We encourage you to attend "Business Frat 101" hosted by the Brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi, Delta Sigma Pi, and Phi Gamma Nu to learn more about the benefits of the professional business fraternity. Afterwards, we invite you to attend AKΨ Rush to see if we may be a right fit for you, and if you may be a right fit for us.

We hope that this may be a positive contribution to your college experience as it most certainly has for us, and our Brotherhood looks forward to seeing you at Open Rush.

Best,

Nicole Jackson & Tenn Nuchkasem
